Living Guild brings people, organizations, and communities together through thoughtfully designed gatherings, conversations, and place-based projects.
The present is where life happens.
Shifting from destination to cultivation
Living Guild begins with the belief that the quality of the future emerges from the quality of what we cultivate together.
A single shift—from building to tending—changes almost everything. It suggests patience instead of urgency, cultivation instead of control, relationship instead of transaction.
The Café and the Bookstore
In the sleepy Marin County town of Fairfax is a tiny bookstore.
What catches your eye in the window are not the latest bestsellers. It is the care with which the books have been chosen. The display seems to say, "The books in here may enrich your life. Please come in and look around."
The atmosphere is unhurried. You browse. One title leads to another. You follow an unexpected thread, then wander across the street to a café where the conversation continues. Returning to the shelves, you notice something you hadn't seen before.
From the café, you look back at the bookstore. Above the door is its name.
Wayfinder
Perhaps Living Guild is a little like that bookstore-and-café.
A place where people arrive from different directions, follow their curiosity, linger over conversations, and leave carrying an idea they didn't know they were looking for.
